What is the daily or weekly rate?
The rental rate is £150 per night, or £1000 per full week, for up to 8 people*, plus a refundable security deposit of £150.
*Additional tenants may be accommodated only by prior permission and at a rate of £20 per person, per night. Exceptions may be made for infants and small children.
The
rate is inclusive of electricity, gas, fresh linen/towel supply, garden
maintenance and house cleaning prior to stay and after departure. Please

Where exactly is the house located?
La Roselle
is located at 6 Auderville, Alderney, Channel Islands, GY9 3XE, in a
residential area just steps away from Victoria Street (Alderney's main
street and shopping centre), in the town of St. Anne. While it is an
easy five minute stroll to all the town's amenities, the house is also
at a high point on the island and features marvelous views of Braye
Bay, Fort Albert and Roselle Point.

How far is the house from Victoria Street, or town?
La Roselle is approximately 200 meters from the centre of Victoria Street.
Is it easy to walk?
It
is approximately a 5 minute walk (depending on your walking speed)
to Victoria Street, and most of the prime shops, pubs and restaurants on the island.
Is there food shopping nearby?
Alderney
is very self-sufficient when it comes to shopping and services. LeCoq's
supermarket is at the top of town, and there is a small
convenience-store version in the centre of Victoria Street, as well as
a second store located by the harbour. LeCoq's features a wide range of
supermarket items, fresh local and French produce, and a full line of
Tesco products. Victoria Street also has a pharmacy, DIY, stationers,
post office, health food store, bakery, butcher, bookshop, electronics
shop and
several banks (with ATM's), gift shops, galleries, cafes and clothing
stores. There are also several pubs and restaurants on the island.
Where is the nearest beach or swimming?
There
are a number of excellent beaches surrounding the island, most are swimmable. The nearest
is Braye Beach, located by the harbour, just downhill from the house. Other wonderful beaches for swimming, shelling, and relaxing are Corblets, Longis and Saye, all of which are a short 5-minute drive from the house, or within easy cycling distance.
May I bring a well-behaved dog or cat?
Unfortunately
we do not permit any pets at the house, and can make no exceptions.
Is the house child-friendly?
The
house is very family friendly, in that it is wonderfully spacious and
comfortably appointed. The owners have a large family themselves, and
this is their "home away from home." The sunroom/games room features
table tennis and Fooz Ball tables, as well as a piano and darts board.
There is also a TV with DVD player and CD/radio in the lounge.
Is a car included/necessary?
A car is not included with the rental, but is recommended for maximum enjoyment of the island. Hire cars are available from www.brayehirecars.com, but there are also cycle hires on the island, and it is equally possible to enjoy Alderney by bicycle or on foot.
Is there wireless internet access?
Yes,
the house features wi-fi service.
Do you provide bedding and towels?

What is the weather likely to be?
Because
it is in the Gulf Stream, Alderney has a mild climate and plenty of
sunshine. The average summer temperature is 25C / 77F from
April-October. In the Autumn and Winter, the temperature is cooler, but not as cold as the UK can be. Weather forecasts are available from Jersey Meteorological Department.
What if we need to cancel?
Notice of cancellation must be made in writing no later than 60 days prior to check-in time in order to receive a full refund, less a £100 administrative fee. In the case of a cancellation notification less
than 60 days prior to check-in, or failure to utilize this confirmed
reservation, we retain all funds received, unless
the house is re-rented at the same rate for the same time
period. If the latter occurs, we retain only the administrative
fee. If a new rental is achieved for only a portion of the time, we
retain the difference in rental income plus the administrative
fee. Exchange for alternate rental dates may be made subject to
availability and an administrative fee.
This policy is firm, regardless of the reason for cancellation. Thank you for your understanding.
Can we arrange a late check-out or early check-in?
Check-in
is anytime after 3 PM, and check-out is no later than 11 AM. Late check-outs may occasionally be arranged outside of the
summer season, subject to availability.
Is there house cleaning service?
Other
than prior to check-in and after departure, house cleaning service is
not included, but may be arranged at an additional fee.
